Beebe's Beach Bash Breaks a Record

Beebe Medical Foundation hosted the fourth annual Beach Bash on June 2 to benefit Beebe Healthcare’s Emergency Department. This year’s event raised $140,000—the greatest amount recorded in the Beach Bash’s four year history.

As a Level III trauma center, Beebe’s Emergency Department has the capability to initially manage the majority of injured patients and has transfer agreements with higher level centers of care.

This year, Schell Brothers generously donated $25,000 as Diamond Sponsors for the Bash, which has been touted as the “Biggest Party of the Summer.”

“We have long been supporters of Beebe because healthcare is so important to our community,” said Chris Schell, CEO of Schell Brothers. “Many of the people buying homes in our communities throughout Sussex County are coming here because of the great healthcare provided by Beebe.”

“This year’s Beach Bash was a tremendous success. We are so grateful for all of our supporters. Of note, we’d like to thank Schell Brothers for their generous gift this year, which continues to support Beebe and our community,” said Judy Aliquo, President and CEO, Beebe Medical Foundation. “It’s because of families like the Schells that Beebe has thrived for more than 100 years in this community. We are honored that Schell’s Diamond sponsorship is the largest single sponsorship in the history of the Beebe Beach Bash.”

In addition to the Beach Bash, which supports the Emergency Department at the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, Beebe Medical Foundation is raising funds for its proposed South Coastal Health Campus and freestanding Emergency Department, which will be located on Route 17 in Millville. The new facility will expand access to emergency care for residents and visitors south of the Indian River Inlet Bridge. Read more about the new ED and take a tour here.
